This rural guesthouse was built in the Edo Period but has since been renovated. It is located in a quiet mountain settlement below where the Kumano Magaibutsu Stone Buddhas stand. On the grounds of the home, peaches (“momo”) and chestnuts (“kuri”) are grown, so the guesthouse was named “Momokuri House”.
